Development of an Additive Manufacturing Cell. Certified and Sustainable Additive Manufacturing of Aviation Components
Abstract
The provision of certified aviation spare parts is cost-intensive, as these are required globally and in small quantities. Additive manufacturing can enable cost-efficient, decentralized production and offers ecological potential through the recycling of old components. However, strict certifications make implementation difficult. The ORAM research project uses the "ARBURG Kunststoff-Freiformen"process to qualify and prepare the certification of processes and components in a production cell at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL) of RWTH Aachen University.
