Title
Generative AI in International Higher Education. Challenges, Applications and Future Directions
Abstract
This chapter explores the role and transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in the context of international higher education, focusing on Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs. GenAI is reshaping traditional educational practices by enabling more personalized learning experiences, automating decision-making and supporting innovation management. GenAI's capabilities in strategic decision-making, entrepreneurship and innovation management emphasize the need for future leaders to develop both technological understanding and management skills. The impact on different educational sectors of various AI technologies, including artificial narrow intelligence (ANI), artificial general intelligence (AGI) and artificial super intelligence (ASI), is illustrated here. Ethical challenges such as academic integrity, authorship and data privacy underscore the need for regulatory frameworks and clear guidelines in educational institutions. Practical recommendations for integrating GenAI into MBA programs are provided, emphasizing the importance of fostering an AI mindset and preparing students for the evolving technological landscape. The main implications of GenAI for higher-education institutions stress the need for strategic decision-making to balance innovation and ethical standards.
