Title

Modelling the Burn Rate of Thermites with a DoE Approach

Abstract
The burn rate of thermite mixtures was systematically investigated as a function of the oxide component, fuel type, applied pressure, and material porosity. The primary objective was to quantify the dependencies of the burn rate on these parameters and to derive a mathematical model for predictive analysis. To achieve this, a Design of Experiments (DoE) approach was implemented, enabling the identification of significant factors and functional relationships governing the burn rate. The insights gained from the Design of Experiments (DoE) approach can be utilized to enhance predictive simulations, improving the accuracy of burn rate modeling under various conditions. Additionally, the identified functional relationships contribute to a deeper understanding of material behavior, facilitating the optimization of thermite formulations for specific applications.
