Topology Optimization Design of Die Casting Machine Moldboard Based on Variable Density Method

Abstract
Aiming at the problems of heavy moldboard weight and high manufacturing cost in the current die-casting machine clamping mechanism, combined with the actual application of the project, the joint design scheme of structure topology optimization and size optimization based on variable density method was adopted, and Optisruct software was used to optimize the static moldboard, clamping moldboard and dynamic moldboard, and the corresponding topology optimization design model was established. Meanwhile, the optimization objective function and constraint function were defined, and the influence of the constraint volume percentage and penalty factor on the topology optimization results was analyzed. Compared with the moldboard structure before optimization, the total weight of major moldboard is reduced from 74.68 tons to 66.35 tons, and the weight reduction rate is 11.5% with more uniform stress distribution.
