Strategies for Sustainable Video Streaming and Energy Efficiency
Abstract
The presented work explores the opportunities and obstacles associated with establishing sustainable streaming workflows amidst the escalating prevalence of video-on-demand services and the distribution of live content via over-the-top (OTT) platforms. We examine the energy-eccifiency of processes and components within the streaming supply chain and their environmental ramifications. Additionally, we provide a thorough investigation of environmentally friendly streaming technologies, such as context-aware encoding, eco-friendly media players, and energy-conscious content management, highlighting their capacity to diminish energy usage and carbon emissions while maintaining a superior user experience.
