Title

Design, Test and Realistic Modeling of a Lithium-Ion Battery

Abstract
The researchers working for the advancement of technologies in electric vehicles and the other portable electronic devices think of the batteries as a main element. The simulation of the batteries using the battery models helps to evaluate the performance and predict the behavior of the battery. The simulation of electric vehicles within a simulator requires similar kind of battery models. In this thesis an electrical equivalent battery model is discussed. To investigate the effect of each element present in the model, on the behavior of the battery during the charging, detailed work has been done. The model was simulated and compared with the real data obtained by cycling the Lithium-iron-phosphate battery cell under different load conditions. Keeping in mind the cycling effect and the required real response of the battery, an accuracy of the simulated model was set to 95%.A battery pack has been constructed using all the important elements and considering the safety measures. The cells were investigated for a proper behavior before adding them to the pack. Due to the shortage of time the battery pack was not tested under different load and temperature conditions.
