Abstract
Life Cycle Gap Analysis (LCGA) interprets products LCA results from a Circular Economy (CE) perspective in order to identify potentials for further improvement of circularity and sustainability. This study analyses and compares the screening LCA results of a copper based flow battery. Based on identified Life Cycle Gaps (LCGs), the study highlights the need to focus not only on potentials for further improvement within manufacturing and use stage, but also to shed a light on End-of-Life (EoL) management and the effective closure of flow batteries material and energy flows to foster CE and sustainability.
