Title

Triangulum - the three point project

Title Supplement
Findings from one of the first EU smart city projects
Abstract
The digital era offers new opportunities for planning and developing cities, infrastructures, and communities: the Triangulum Project provides insights into this quest. Concluded on the December 31, 2020, this 29,5 Million Euro project was one of the first European Smart Cities and Communities Lighthouse projects that received funding within the European Union's Horizon (2020) Research and Innovation Program. The project worked with three forerunner cities and three follower cities during its 5-year lifetime. From these two triads, the inspiration for the name of the project was taken; Triangulum is the Latin word for triangle. The focus on the Dutch forerunner city of Eindhoven addresses urban transformation as an outcome of city vision and strategy setting, the bold pursuit of technological innovation, and broad participation by the public and industry.
