Electronic attacks on DVB-T-based passive radar systems

We investigate the vulnerabilities of digital video broadcast terrestrial (DVB-T) based passive radar systems against electronic attacks using the deterministic parts of the DVB-T signal such as pilot tones. Different electronic attack strategies are outlined and it is shown that the pilot signals can be used to cause a deterioration in passive radar performance. We demonstrate that DVB-T attack through pilot tone manipulation could even be used if the location of the passive radar receiver was unknown.
