Phased array feed design for radar imaging system using cassegrain reflector

The hybrid approach of array fed reflector with digital beam forming (DBF) will offer high gain and directivity with potential of limited scanning capability by integrating modest number of antenna elements at the focal plane of reflectors. This paper presents a concept for ground based radar system for space debris imaging using cassegrain reflector with multiple antenna elements at focal plane and implementing digital beam forming techniques. This paper will also discuss the main operation principle of proposed phased array feed system in transmit and receive mode and scanning capability of the cassegrain reflector.
