Study on perturbations in a tracking radar using septum polarizers for integration of a second antenna system

This paper investigates the impact of a perturbation in the corner of a square waveguide antenna with a septum polarizer on the axial ratio of the antenna. An L-band model antenna is presented and different perturbation geometries are modelled. The results are discussed and show that perturbations up to 30 mm are tolerable in this context.
