Title
OFDM Waveform Synchronisation for Multistatic Radar and DVB-T2 Illumination
Abstract
Synchronisation is an important part of radar signal processing and in particular for multistatic radar systems. On the one hand, it is critical to enhance the signal processing to improve the system performance, on the other hand, it supports the multisite distribution as it is done for multistatic systems. In the case of an orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal with specified features like DVB-T2, the synchronisation is enhanced by the structure, wideband and pilot carrier characteristics inherent in the waveform. Various synchronisation aspects of passive radars are particularly important. The effects of noise, actuation position, pre-synchronisation and frequency offsets as well as intersymbol interference were investigated using a combination of measured and simulated data.
