Titel
Measuring the isolation of a continuous emission radar by support of the doppler effect
Abstract
The achievable sensitivity of continuous emission (CE) radars may be strongly influenced by the isolation between the transmitter and receiver. Therefore, this parameter needs to be evaluated when a radar is calibrated. This work describes an on-site method for an isolation determination in which the influences of the radar platform are fully taken into account whereas environmental influences are mainly mitigated. Experimental results are presented with a CE noise radar mounted on a moving platform that elegantly separates the isolation effects in the receiver from close-in echoes of the environment.
