A new methodology to investigate real life scenarios for simulation and testing
Abstract
This paper describes the use of the AIMATS-methodology for the investigation of real life scenarios. The method is based on a detailed accident analysis to locate suitable locations for the investigation. At these locations, the traffic is monitored with a mobile camera system. The paper describes how the trajectories, extracted from the video, are modelled into a statistical description for typical manoeuvres - base for simulation of critical scenarios and representative test scenarios.
