3D Millimeter Wave Screening of Wind Turbine Blade Segments
3D reconstruction based on broadband SAR imaging at 80 GHz is demonstrated. The 3D scanning platform used for material scans is briefly described. Different defects are shown being visualized from radar data, clearly showing the fiber structure in glass fiber composite materials, enclosures and defects. First results on high accuracy surface reconstruction based on phase unwrapping are shown to underline the potential of millimeter wave scanning for next generation quality monitoring systems.
