Coherent radar sea clutter modeling and simulation
Abstract
A two component clutter model is proposed to aid in the simulation of the spatio-temporal characteristics of radar sea clutter backscatter returns collected from moving airborne platforms. The simulation approach is seen to reproduce key characteristic of the real data and supports the development of both new detection approaches and effective test and verification programs for radar procurements.
