Applicability of carbonaceous sorbents for the determination of very volatile organic compounds (VVOC) in indoor air

Abstract
The suitability of six carbonaceous sorbents for the determination of very volatile organic compounds (VVOCs) was evaluated. The sorbents were spiked with a VVOC mixture in methanol and subsequently analysed via TD-GC/MS. The best recovery rates for all employed VVOCs were achieved with medium/strong sorbents such as Carbograph 5TD and Carbopack X.
