Title

Maritime traffic forecast. Analysis of influencing factors and methodological approach

Title Supplement
Presentation held at 12th International Symposium on Integrated Ship's Information Systems & Maritime Traffic Engineering Conference, ISIS - MTE 2016, 31 Aug - 02 Sep 2016, Hamburg
Abstract
Various factors influence the course and speed of every ship, resulting in uncertain arrival times at ports. Stakeholders from the port and shipping industry are highly dependent on this information for resource planning and allocation. This paper identifies the before-mentioned factors and analyses their respective relevance with regard to the port call of the ship. This analysis is the basis for developing a methodological approach to forecast maritime traffic.
