Title
Virtual prototyping for smart systems for electric, safe and networked mobility
Abstract
The development of smart systems for mobility, especially the development of electronic systems for hybrid and electric cars, introduces a new dimension of complexity - the traditional separation of different physical domains and their corresponding engineering disciplines will be repealed. To challenge this new complexity new design methodologies are required. Due several advantages virtual prototyping will become more and more important for the design of automotive systems. This paper introduces a modelling and simulation technology, which will help to overcome one of the major disadvantage of virtual prototyping - the long simulation time. Additionally this technology based on the description language SystemC/SystemC-AMS permits an IP protected model exchange through the automotive value chain from TIER2 to the OEM.
