Title

Tune the properties of a partially reactive system with SPS technology

Other Title
Einstellung der Eigenschaften eines partiell reaktiven Systems mit der Funkenentladungsplasmatechnologie
Abstract
The manufacturing of novel Fe-based composites reinforced with 60 vol.% graphite with tailored properties was investigated by using SPS method. The correlations between the consolidation parameters (dwell time, sintering temperature and heating rate) and the obtained microstructure and properties (thermal conductivity, density and thermal expansion) are summarized. The SPS technology offers a way to control the content of the reaction product of a partially reactive system during the sinter process displayed in a four times higher thermal conductivity than pure iron. A reduced coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) lower than 4ppm/K was also detected.
