"Advanced Modular Micro-Production System (AMMS)" ist the title of a new concept which creates a suitable size ratio between microcomponents and the production environment. The concept is also ideal for the integration and interconnection of processes which have yet to be separated. The "AMMS" concept can be redesigned or extended in an easy and flexible manner. By using a modular construction, small dimensions and a decentrally-organized control architecture, high-precision and sensitive handling procedures could be automated with acceptable investment and operating costs.
