Title

Process Integrated Nondestructive Testing for Evaluation of Hardness

Abstract
With the help of new PINT sensors, product characteristics are evaluated which otherwise could only be determined so far by time-consuming and cost-intensive testing. These sensors would permit continuous measurements of hardness, hardening depth and technologically important additional parameters. PINT systems support flexible manufacturing and are capable of direct measurement of trends in manufacturing, providing input parameters for the process control, minimizing idle time and performing a contiuous quality documentation. In order to further increase the productivity with high quality, companies will make widespread use of PINT systems. The methods of statistical quality control (SQC) and statistical process control are depend on processing parameters and tool characteristics, PINT systems can be used to optimise the processes and to guarantee high-quality products.
