Title

Vergleichende Untersuchung zur Wirkung des Kaliumkanalaktivators EMD 52692 im jungen und alten Tier

Other Title
Comparative study on microcirculatory effects of EMD 52692 in 5 and 19 months old rats
Abstract
Ten WKY rats were given 6, 12 or 24 myg EMD 52692 solved in 30 per cent propandiol per kg b.w. as a bolus injection in a tail vain in 0.05 ml volume/100g b.w. Blood pressure (tailcuff) was not changed after dosage of 6 myg but reduced after 12 myg and 24 myg. Blood flow in capillaries was significantly increased. Computing the data in form of cumulative frequency distributions it is shown that in capillaries the perfusion is homogeneously increased only after a dosage of 5 myg/kg b.w. Thus it is shown that EMD 52692 in old animals exhibits a beneficial effect on skin microcirculation after 6 myg/kg b.w.; contrary to our findings in the same but younger rats higher dosages led to an impairment of microcirculation.
