Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Gießkern für Gießformen, wobei der Gießkern mit einem Silikasol gebundene Keramik-Partikel enthält oder hieraus besteht. Der Gießkern weist eine Porenstruktur auf, bei welcher die mittlere Porengröße der Poren zumindest abschnittsweise von außen nach innen im Gießkern zunimmt. Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft zudem ein Verfahren zur Herstellung des erfindungsgemäßen Gießkerns sowie die Verwendung des erfindungsgemäßen Gießkerns.
