Title

System for analyzing workpiece e.g. casting workpiece, has control unit designed such that density is determined from information of geometric path, geometry data and calibration data, where geometric path is made to interact with workpiece

Abstract
The system (1) has a storage unit (3) connected with a control unit (2). Geometric data i.e. CAD data, describing a geometry of a workpiece (20), a correlation between a density of a material and calibration data reproduced by a refractive index change and a refractive index are stored in the storage unit. The control unit is designed such that density is determined from information of a geometric path (17), the geometry data and the calibration data, where the geometric path is made to interact with the workpiece. The material is formed from plastic or foam materials. An independent claim is also included for a method for analyzing a workpiece made of plastic or foam material.
