Title

Bioreaktorsystem

Other Title
Bioreactor for cultivating cells, comprises reactor region, which is subdivided into two reactor areas through a membrane-unit fluid-permeable in part areas, and electrodes for transendothelial electrical resistance-value-measurement
Abstract

DE 102009022354 A1 UPAB: 20101130 NOVELTY - The box- or cup-shaped bioreactor comprises reactor region, which is subdivided into two reactor areas through a membrane-unit fluid-permeable in part areas, and electrodes for transendothelial electrical resistance-value-measurement. The two reactor areas comprise an opening (24, 34) suited for introducing and/or discharging a fluid. The bioreactor is demountable in three parts such as a first reactor housing part that surrounds the first reactor area, a second reactor housing part that surrounds the second reactor area, and membrane unit fluid-permeable in part areas. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The box- or cup-shaped bioreactor comprises reactor region, which is subdivided into two reactor areas through a membrane-unit fluid-permeable in part areas, and electrodes for transendothelial electrical resistance-value-measurement. The first reactor housing part is arranged as a reactor cover and the second reactor housing part is arranged as a reactor lower part. The reactor housing parts are connected to each other in air-tight manner through a screw joint. The membrane unit consists of a membrane (10) and a frame or the membrane unit consists of a membrane. The membrane unit is disc-shaped and lies between both membrane areas horizontal with its both surfaces. The membrane takes 25-100% of the surface of the membrane unit. The membrane has a pore size of 0.1-20 mu m, and a pore density of 107 pores per cm2. The first reactor housing part comprises an aeration opening equipped with a sterile filter, and/or a lockable pipette opening. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for cultivating cells. USE - Box- or cup-shaped bioreactor useful for cultivating cells (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The bioreactor is capable of simply cultivating the cells without any damage.
