Beschrieben wird eine Vorrichtung zur Gewaehrleistung eines sicheren Betriebes einer in einem Aufstellraum vorgesehenen Feuerstaette, die ueber eine Abgasanlage mit einem ausserhalb des Aufstellraumes befindlichen Bereich verbunden ist. Die Erfindung zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass eine Belueftungseinheit vorgesehen ist, die in wenigstens eine geoeffnete oder in eine geschlossene Stellung ueberfuehrbar ist, dass die Belueftungseinheit in der geoeffneten Stellung eine von dem ausserhalb des Aufstellraumes befindlichen Bereich in den Aufstellraum gerichtete Luftstroemung und in der geschlossenen Stellung keinen Luftaustausch zwischen dem Aufstellraum und dem ausserhalb des Aufstellraumes befindlichen Bereich durch die Belueftungseinheit hindurch ermoeglicht und dass die Belueftungseinheit derart ausgelegt und/oder ansteuerbar ist, dass die Belueftungseinheit aus der geschlossenen in die geoeffnete Stellung ueberfuehrbar ist, sofern ein im Aufstellraum herrschendes Druckniveau um einen vorgebbaren Differenzdruck unter ein im ausserhalb des Aufstellraumes befindlichen Bereich herrschendes Druckniveau faellt.
