Title

Bioreaktor und Verfahren zum Zuechten dendritischer Zellen

Other Title
Disposable bioreactor for cultivation of dendritic cells used in immuno therapy, comprises a substrate-carrying organic material located in a pouch.
Abstract

EP 1132460 A UPAB: 20011119 NOVELTY - A disposable bioreactor for cultivating cells used in immuno therapy, comprising a substrate-carrying organic material located in a pouch, is new. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Disposable bioreactor for cultivating cells comprises a substrate-carrying organic material located in a pouch. The substrate (16) carries the organic material and is permeable to the organic culture medium. The substrate is placed between and surrounded by two planar sections (12, 14), forming a pouch-like structure. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for the method of cultivating organic matter, especially dendritic cells. USE - As a bioreactor for cultivating organic matter, especially dendritic cells. These are expected to have increasing importance in immuno-therapy directed against tumor cells. ADVANTAGE - Cultivation of dendritic cells is improved, the apparatus described making cultivation simple and reliable. The pouch-like reactor vessel is particularly easy to handle. Introduction into, and removal from the incubator is facilitated. The apparatus is very low in cost, suiting it for disposable use. The pouch can be impermeable, or permeable to nutrients. Its contents may reinforce it, making it stable in form and dimensions.
