Abstract
Preparation of cellulose with improved solubility in water-containing amine oxides is effected by treating water-dispersed pulp with cellulitic enzymes, especially with cellulase (Aspergillus niger) and/or xylanase (Trichoderma viride). ADVANTAGE - This is simpler than the alkalisation method of DD298789 and more effective than the milling method of EP356419.
