Abstract
The control method involves using a detector (10) for measuring the intensity of the laser beam. The laser output intensity is compared with the required beam intensity (PLs), in order to provide a setting value (u) for the laser system (18). A computer simulation of the laser system (21) receives the setting value provided by a comparison of the actual and required beam intensities. The power characteristic of the laser and the transmission function of the detector are simulated, to allow an estimation value for the corrected intensity (Us) to be provided by an estimator (12). ADVANTAGE - Precise adjustment of laser intensity, with short response time.
