The invention relates to a device for measuring the carbon content of mineral acids, in particular in concentrated mineral acids, whereby the organically bound carbon is oxidized in a furnace filled with an oxydation catalyst and the carbon oxide content of the gas is detectable by means of a detector, whereby the oxidation catalyst in the furnace is a mineral-acid-resistant catalyst and a gas washer connected downstream of the furnace is provided, said furnace guiding the gas flow before it is fed to the detector.
