Specification of the CIP3 Print Production Format (Version 2.1)

The CIP3 Print Production Format (CIP3 PPF) was specified by the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics in close collaboration with a group called "International Cooperation for Integration of Prepress, Press, and Postpress" (abbreviated as CIP3). This group comprises currently (May 1997) more than 26 well-known manufacturers. The goal of the format is to link printing and post-printing processes closer to the prepress phase and thereby reduce the time necessary for machine setup.
