IMG information model of EDIF version 2 0 0. Version 1.0

The ANSI/EIA standard 548 Electronic Design Interchange Format (EDIF) specifies an data exchange format for electronic design data. This is being done by defining the syntax of a file format. The semantics of the information domain behind this format is given informally, only. To solve this problem, the Information Modelling Group (IMG) of the European EDIF Technical Committee has developed an information model of EDIF Version 2 0 0. This model formally defines the product data which can be exchanged by the use of EDIF. The model is written in the information modelling language EXPRESS. This reports gives an introduction into information modelling, in general and especially in the area of electronic design automation. The main emphasis has been laid on the complete description of the information model of EDIF 2 0 0.
