Abstract

The aim of the present work is to improve both the electrical and mechanical properties of the blends based on polycarbonate (PC) and acrylnitrile butadiene styrene copolymer (ABS) blends through a selective localization of carbon nanotubes (CNT) in the PC matrix and carbon black (CB) in the ABS domains. Preparation of the composites was realized by a masterbatch technology in an internal mixer and controlled by the method of the online measured electrical conductance. According to morphological investigation made by TEM, CNT remains in the PC matrix, however, CB which was premixed in ABS domains migrates to the PC matrix completely during the next mixing step.
