Sound insulation

Das Ziel der akustischen Gestaltung von Gebäuden ist es, geeignete Bedingungen für die Nutzer zu schaffen. Gesundheit, Wohlbefinden und bei Arbeitsräumen auch die Leistungsfähigkeit sind die wesentlichen Gesichtspunkte. Dabei geht es nicht nur um das Vermeiden von Belästigungen oder gar Belastungen, sondern darum, aktiv für angenehme akustische Bedingungen zu sorgen. Aspekte wie Luftschalldämmung gegenüber Außengeräuschen, Trittschall- und Körperschalldämmung sowie Schallabsorption im Raum spielen in diesem Zusammenhang eine wesentliche Rolle. Da sich die einzelnen Kriterien gegenseitig beeinflussen, sind die schalltechnischen Anforderungen in Kombination mit den konstruktiven, wärme- und feuchteschutztechnischen sowie gestalterischen Aspekten zu sehen, um eine funktionale und wirtschaftlich beste Ausführung zu erreichen.

The aim of the acoustic design of a building is to create suitable conditions for its users. Their health, well-being, and in workplaces their productivity too, are the critical aspects. And it is not only preventing annoyances, indeed noise pollution, that we must consider, but also the active design of agreeable acoustic conditions. Aspects just as airborne sound insulation to protect against external noises, impact sound and structure-borne sound insulation plus sound absorption within the interior are all vital factors here. As the individual criteria have an influence on each other, the sound insulation - or noise control - requirements must be considered in conjunction with the constructional, thermal performance, moisture control and architectural aspects in order to achieve the best design in terms of function and economics.
