Title

Oberflächenmodifikation von Biomaterialien durch Mikrostrukturierung

Other Title
Surface modification of biomaterials by microstructuring
Abstract
Within the scope of the present work microstructured surfaces of possible implant materials have been produced. For design various surface profiles and pillar structures have been applied which have been modified in diameter and in distance. Biological investigations showed the influence of the structured surfaces on the adhesion of bacteria and cells. Human fibroblasts, Hela cells and the bacteria staphylococcus epidermidis have been used to investigate the adhesion and the growth behavior on the respective structures. In general, the optimization as well as restriction of cell growth and adhesion could be observed. The results of this work can be transferred to other biomaterials und open new perspectives for the development of medical implants and instruments as well as cell cultural containers.
