Title
Fallbericht. Therapieresistente Hämaturie und Cystitis bei einem Meerschweinchen
Abstract
A four year old female pet guinea pig showed a therapy-resistant hematuria. The health state did not improve after the radiogram detected small cystic uroliths have removed by spasmolytic treatment. The necropsy and subsequent histopathological and bacteriologic examinations led to the diagnosis: Cortical adenoma of the adrenals, severe purulent/ulcerative cystitis with local infection by an apathogenic Corynebacterium species, and multiple erosion of the stomach mucous membrane. Endocrine hyperfuntion of the cortical adenoma of the adrenals secreting glucocorticoid hormones was supposed to have been the triggering factor for the multifactoral disease.
