Aspects for efficient rendering through physiological and anatomical parameters of the eye
Abstract
There are different algorithms for efficient rendering of 3D scenes which pay attention to technical aspects of the used computer hardware. Tuning all aspects of the hardware is one way of fast and good quality rendering especially for virtual environments. Another way is take some of the physiological and anatomical parameters of the eye in account. This could result a better renderer on the same machines as before or a same renderer on cheaper machines. This paper describes some of those aspects and shows some new approaches and their results for the 3D real-time rendering process. The basis of this paper is a research work on enhancement of a real-time rendering algorithms that was conducted for the virtual reality kernel Lightning developed by the VIS-Laboratory at the Fraunhofer-Institute for Industrial Engineering. The new rendering algorithms have proved their usability during several industrial projects.
