Title

Using decision models for adaptive generation of software engineering learning content

Abstract
The success of technology-enhanced learning systems depends on the context-aware delivery of different types of learning resources and their ability to adapt and personalize the learning content to the learner's needs. This paper presents a product line approach that uses a decision model for resolving variations in so-called learning spaces. Learning spaces are used to support the reuse process of explicit software engineering experience packages. The learning spaces are delivered in a system called Software Organization Platform (SOP), which contains information about software projects, products, processes, and individuals, as well as explicit learning content. A controlled experiment provides statistically significant results, which show an experience package reuse improvement of 85% regarding application efficiency and 28% regarding application accuracy.
