Collaborating with Fraunhofer-FOKUS Berlin, a concrete application example within the scope of the project was put into practice - the scenario of a virtual university: An efficient Service platform as basis, enables the user a collective learning and communication in a distribute virtual environment. This distribute virtual environment is represented with the help of 3D-visualisation techniques. The university consists of premises, which are at course-participants' disposal, to use for different presentations. A special conference-room offers the opportunity for audio/video communication between the learners. Documentaries about different course subject matters can be played and replayed in the 3D-world. Participants in the course are represented by avatars.
