Abstract
The three-dimensional online collision monitoring described in this article uses a special 3-D algorithm with the matching hardware. This system ensures a high degree of accuracy even when changes in the dynamic values of the industrial robot or the handling unit result in deviations from the target course. The application of this online collision monitoring system can to a high degree reduce costs resulting from production system defects or idle time.
