Gefüge und Eigenschaften von Werkstoffen aus biogenen Rohstoffen
Other Title
Structure and properties of materials from growing raw materials
Abstract
Plants as flax, miscanthus and pine or animal products as hairs, wool and bones offer many perspectives for the applikation of raw materials and aids to produce high-tech- and low-tech-materials corresponding standard techniques. High-tech-components from growing raw materials are under production already, for example silicon carbide from rice husks, carbon fiber felts from hairs, wool fibers and/or plant fibers and fiberly activated carbon. Up to date mainly the chemical elements occuring in growing raw materials have been used for the exploitation. However development of new materials will require the transformation of structural hierarchie which are present in plant and animal fibers to analogous material structures. First experiments preparing composites on the basis of plant fibers, carbon and silicon carbide from these fibers have been pointed out potencies of growing raw materials in comparision with the traditional materials.
