Title
SysML v2 for Automated Co-simulation from Systems Architecture Models
Abstract
SysML v2 enhances integration in system-level modeling and simulation, particularly through co-simulation, addressing the challenges of isolated modeling and domain-specific silos. Traditional modeling isolation impedes integration and causes delays due to inaccessible, outdated parameters and varying abstraction levels. Our solution leverages SysML v2’s machine readability to automate co-simulation network generation using the Functional Mockup Interface (FMI). This fosters digital continuity, allowing developers to explore dynamic system behavior without domain-specific tool expertise. Overcoming obstacles in causal and acausal modeling approaches, a class-based transformation layer adapts abstract connections to FMI-compliant connectors. We demonstrate this end-to-end approach with a hybrid-electrical aircraft propulsion system, showcasing automatic co-simulation network generation for quick configuration analysis. The solution facilitates bidirectional integration, enabling users without domain knowledge to leverage preexisting models. This approach advances seamless integration between systems modeling and dynamic behavior analysis, offering a practical solution for multi-domain and cyber-physical systems validation and verification.
