Title
Schichtentwicklung sowie experimentelle und numerische Untersuchungen an Schicht-Substrat-Systemen
Abstract
In the collaborate research centre 692 "high-tensile Al-based light constructional materials for security-related applications", funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), new materials are going to be developed. For economical and ecological reasons the use of lubricants for massive forming has to be avoided by using coated tools with functional surfaces that show high wear resistance, low friction and low adhesion to aluminum. The coating properties are evaluated by mechanical tests in connection with numeric simulations. By the example of TiCN-, TiC-TiN- and DLC-coatings is shown, how simulation relevant coating properties like the Young's Modulus, the crack behavior and the hardness can be analyzed. Models for the simulation of the behavior of coated tools during massive forming processes are developed. Scaling up the results to real industrial forming tools hints for the construction of forming tools will be given.
