Implementation of a Dynamically Customizable, Resilient and Platform Independent Digital Twin to Enable Data Exchange between Process Simulation and Measuring Systems
Abstract
This paper presents an architecture for a data-driven digital twin that enables the integration of arbitrary simulation frameworks. The solution found is customizable, resilient and platform independent due to the proposed architecture. This is achieved primarily through a cloud system in which the components are embedded. This addresses and reduces current hurdles in the introduction of Industry 4.0. In addition to the development of standard software for the components, which guarantee a broad application, qualitative criteria for the selection of each individual component are also presented. The architecture presented here allows the connection of measurement systems and simulation frameworks, which can be viewed and evaluated together. This achieves an equalization of real and virtual sensors, which enables the seamless integration of innovative live data evaluations into the monitoring system. Finally, the prototype implementation is presented, which is currently being tested.
