Antialiasing and smoothing filters for sampled data signals using distributed RC-elements

An 3rd order active smoothing or antialiasing lowpass filter based on distributed RC-elements is presented together with a procedure for optimum design of this type of filter. When compared to filters using lumped resistors and capacitors, distributed filter offer steeper stopband roloff and higher crosstalk insensitivity and require smaller chip area.
