Title

Use of the dressMAN measurement system to assess normal and emergency operation thermal cases in a business-jet mockup

Abstract
The DressMAN sensor system imitates the dry heat balance of the human skin. This sensor system was used within the Clean Sky 2 Novel Certification approach in the Clean Sky Thermal Test Bench in order to assess its capability to evaluate comfort and hazard thermal environments. A large experimental campaign covering more than 20 single cases in a business jet aircraft mock-up was conducted covering both normal operation hot and cold cases as well as ETOPS relevant emergency cases. In this case study, the DressMAN measurement system proved to be a suitable measure to compare and evaluate inhomogeneous environments through the equivalent temperature.
