Experiments with a small-scale block in the EMI model-simulator.

For testing scaling laws of blast loaded models and evaluating loading functions, in the EMI simulator, which is a model of the large blast simulator of Reiteralpe, as well as in the simulator of Reiteralpe a block has been tested. The tests were done first with a model placed on the ground and after that with the same model but put up on four stilts as simulation of a truck. For incident shock overpressures of 0.3 up to 1.2 bar, pressure measurements on different locations at the front, rear, side, top and bottom were made. The results are presented as pressure-time and impulse-time histories, furthermore the net vertical loading is discussed. All results of the EMI are compared with those of Reiteralpe.
