Time and temperature resolved studies of crystallization of polymers with rapid X-ray diffraction

Fast temp.-resolved x-ray diffraction was used to investigate the crystn. of semi-cryst. polymers. LDPE samples were cooled with a rate of 0.25-1.00 K/s, while series of diffraction patterns were recorded with intervals of 2.25 s using a fixed position sensitive proportional counter. The series were calcd. by a difference procedure. The fitted kinetic crystn. parameters depend linearly on the cooling rate.
