Title

Simulink-PSpice co-simulation of power amplifier for driving piezoelectric actuators

Abstract
In most of active vibration control (AVC) applications piezoelectric transducers require appropriate power electronics to be driven with high electric voltage due to high capacitance [1]. Thus, circuit design of power amplifiers for driving piezoelectric transducers becomes a challenging task. Design problems need to be found in early design stage since prototyping the complete system can be time and cost intensive. Furthermore the electromechanical behaviour of the holistic system needs to be identified, since it determines requirements for electrical specifications of the power amplifier. As solution, the SLPS (SimuLinkPSpice) co-simulation environment of Cadence Design Systems is used as a new approach to embed electronic circuit simulation of the developed power amplifier in system model simulation in Simulink.
